The primary aim of the IP project is to enable each PhD-student participating in this course to make substantial progress on the development of the doctoral dissertation. This is to be achieved by a broad range of teaching and learning methods including intensified coaching, moderated discussions, group work, and expert talks. Use of ICT-based instruments like learning management system, ePortfolio and video conferencing is an integral part of subject teaching and practical training. Lecturers and supervisors from Danube University Krems (AT), Leeds Metropolitan University (UK) and University of Cyprus (CY) will jointly engage in teaching, training, and coaching. Enabling concerted face-to-face interactions of the experts from the three partners and intensifying their relations is a specific objective of the IP project.

The thematic area is on science and research. Students are encouraged to sharpen their scientific approach and to expose their methodologies of their research activities. Great importance is attached to interdisciplinarity. The target group consists of PhD students enrolled at one of the three partner universities (with Danube University providing the largest group).

The output for students just started on their dissertation will be the completion of their dissertation proposal, for students who have completed the proposal stage it will be the completion of development of methods & instruments, for students who have developed their methodologies and made substantial progress it will be the completion of their dissertation.
