The course can be attended parallel to employment and is being offered by Danube University Krems together and the Calcucare Institute, a subsidiary company of Fresenius Medical Care. It addresses specialized personnel and executives in hospitals, health insurance organisations, and companies in the sectors of medical technology and pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, employees of official organisations and institutions in the health sector are also addressed.

“Given the rising pressure of costs in public health, on the one hand the students learn how information technologies can be applied in order to make processes in the health sector more efficient and therapy more effective,” explained the patron Prof. Dr. Emanuele Gatti, member of the executive board of Fresenius Medical Care. “On the other hand they learn how medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and software – in addition to services – can be manufactured and offered faster and more economically.”
