Cooperation with Bratislava

“Our cooperation will focus on student exchange”, said Univ.-Prof. Dr. Manfred Straube, Director of the Department of European Integration at Danube University Krems. “The new University in Bratislava follows a three-stage concept of training and continuing education. After their baccalaureate in Slovakia, the young academicians will be offered the opportunity to enrol for a degree of Master of Laws (LL.M.) or Master in European Studies (M.E.S.) at Danube University Krems. Ideally the students will then return to the University in Bratislava for their doctorate,” said Straube.

The private university in Slovakia was founded in 2004; the first courses will already be started this fall with 500 students. “We want to enliven this cooperative project as soon as possible and implement concrete projects.” Prof. JUDr. Vladimír Mathern, DrSc., Rector of the University of Law Bratislava concurs fully with Prof. Dr. Helmut Kramer, Rector of Danube University Krems, who also wishes to promote cultural relations through cooperative activities. “In addition to exchange in the research and teaching sectors Danube University Krems will extend its cultural network through this cooperation,” said Kramer. Prof. Dr.iur. Josef Klimko, DrSc., Slovak Ambassador to Austria was also present when the contract was signed.
