Danube University Krems Appoints 12 Professors
University reinforces its scientific potential by systematic expansion of the academic staff and a new organizational structure.
02.02.2006
Since the beginning of 2006 Danube University Krems has increased its staff by 12 additional permanent professors. The new professors are teaching and pursuing research in the sectors economics and management, communication, IT and media, medicine and health, and education and cultural studies. Eight more chairs will be established during the course of the year.
“By systematically increasing the number of highly qualified academic personnel we are reinforcing the scientific potential of Danube University Krems and therefore promoting quality development and quality control in teaching and research”, says rector Prof. Helmut Kramer. “The appointment of the professors is a decisive step on our way to becoming the Central European centre of competence for postgraduate education.” The establishment of the new chairs goes hand in hand with the division of the university into its current twelve departments. These correspond to the areas of expertise and the foci of the young university, which specialises in postgraduate education and corresponding research.
