The Senate of the University had already expressed its unanimous support of Willer. The University Council had been very satisfied with the Rector's term of office thus far and would fully rely on his ability to complete the current process of reorganization at Danube University Krems, said Univ.-Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Mazal, Chairman of the University Council.
Univ.-Prof. Dr. Jürgen Willer is a medical specialist and has been Rector at Krems from 2009 onward. He studied in Würzburg and Heidelberg, and worked at the university clinics of Düsseldorf, Tübingen and Hannover before he switched to Danube University Krems in 2004 after he had been appointed as a visiting professor in 2002. As head of the Department for Interdisciplinary Dentistry Willer was significantly involved in the establishment of the research and advanced education center for dentistry at Danube University Krems. He was member of the Senate at Danube University Krems, was Chairman of the Curricula Committee, and Vice-Rector of Science and Research from 2007 to 2008.
