Department for Evidence-based Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology

The Department for Evidence-based Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology was founded in 2008 and is co-financed through the Lower Austria Health and Social Capital (NÖGUS).

The objective of the department is to support decision making in the Austrian health care system with evidence-based methods such as meta-analysis and systematic reviews. A core piece of this will be an evidence-based information center for doctors in Lower Austria.

The new department has an official cooperation with the Evidence-based Practice Center of the University of North Carolina, USA. Further international cooperation is currently being planned.
