Five mental disorders (addiction, anxiety, dementia, mood disorder, and psychosis) cost the Austrian state 7.6 billion Euro annually. Additionally, mental disorders are the second most common reason that Austrian employees go into early retirement. The World Health Organization estimates that, by 2014, depression will be the most common serious disease worldwide.
The goal of the European Forum for Evidence-based Prevention [EUFEP] is to establish an international platform for Best Practices in preventive medicine and health care.
The structures and objectives of national and international institutes will be introduced. Additionally, the forum will offer participants the opportunity to network with interested parties and experts in the field.
Physicians and decision makers in public health comprise the target audience of this event.
Nevertheless, the symposium is open to all interested professions including researchers, allied medicine professional, and journalists.
