Our biochemistry group is involved with the development of adsorbers for extracorporeal blood purification and it focuses on the development of these adsorbers with regard to adsorption capacities, adsorption kinetics, specificity and biodigestibility. This also requires the establishment of approriate analytical methods to quantify the respective target substances. Our present projects concentrate on adsorbers for the following substances or substance groups: |

The adsorbers we deal with are micro- as well as macroparticles (average size is 1-10 µm as well as 300-500 µm) which are then cut into the necessary sizes to be used in the blood purification system which was developed by the center. |
