Department of Interdisciplinary Dentistry

Interferences of the supporting and musculoskeletal system understanding diagnostically and therapeutically

Symptoms in the masticatory organ and the entire head-and-neck region are from epidemiological view increasing worldwide. They constitute a special subject within dentistry, oral and maxillofacial medicine.
In addition to a basic knowledge of medicine with regard to the complexity of the problem, dentists must be able to coordinate dentistry with general medicine, both within and between the various disciplines. Building up a team that speaks a common language based on common knowledge is a basic prerequisite fo fulfil the future tasks of dentistry.
Postgraduate teachings and scientific research are therefore central field of application of the interdisciplinary dialogue at the Danube university.
