Esthetic face surgery is currently conducted by three disciplines: Plastic and reconstructive surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and otolaryngology (head and neck surgery). The underlying curriculum of the university course “Esthetic Face Surgery” is mainly function based (“esthetics follows function”) and will serve as a basis to scientifically objectify all esthetic-surgical treatment. The university course will train specialists in the above mentioned disciplines and meditate a science-based, surgical practice-oriented curriculum. The stated aim of the university course is to contribute to the basis of scientific and practical principles for professional and personal development of the participants.
