Although the urgent need for academically trained staff with both character forming and economic skills is recognised in pedagogic circles, in German-speaking countries there is as yet neither a relevant postgraduate university course nor the possibility to specialise in this field in existing pedagogical training courses at universities to meet this demand.
In addition to enabling people to teach at Waldorf schools, this course aims to teach the methodological principles of Waldorf pedagogy and promote a lively dialogue between different pedagogical approaches and also between different disciplines.
The study offer is extra-occupational and aims to help students acquire or professionalise their operational skills. It is based on an integrative concept that is tailored to the acquisition of skills and combines, using suitable supporting media, academic and work placement phases in a way that ensures a high level of skills development. The course adopts an integrative approach in terms of support and encouragement in both the academic and work placement phases.
One essential feature of the module-based study offer is an interdisciplinary approach that enables students to select and discuss one topic from the perspective of different academic disciplines.
