Political communication refers to political information, political participation and political communication as campaigning. Following these three categories, the focus of the department in teaching, research and consulting is on
• civic education in the information society, emphasising the relationship between politics and mass media as well as the use of new communication and information technologies (ICTs).
• elections and other forms of political participation as the core element of democracy.
• representation of public interests beyond party issues.
Our goal is to create interdisciplinary links between factual knowledge and social competences, making the political process more transparent and offering access to the political system.
