On 17th December 2008, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Jürgen Willer was announced rector of the Danube University Krems by the university council. The former vice rector for science and research took office in January 2009.

Willer transferred to the Danube University Krems in 2004 and became head of the Department for Interdisciplinary Dentistry and Technology in 2005. He made major contributions while participating in the founding process of this center for dentistry research and advanced training.
