brief biography

I am scientific researcher and deputy head at the Department of Information & Knowledge Engineering (ike), Danube University Krems and lecturer at the Information Engineering Group (ieg) of the Institute of Software Technology & Interactive Systems (ISIS) at Vienna University of Technology (TU Vienna).

I received my PhD in computer science from Vienna University of Technology in March 2006. From 2003-2006 I was scientific researcher at the project "Gaining New Medical Insights through Temporal Data Abstraction and Clinical Protocols" funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) . I have a MSc from Vienna University of Technology where I wrote my master thesis on "Interactive Visualization of Time-Oriented Treatment Plans and Patient Data".

My main research interests include Information Visualization (in particular Visual Data Exploration, Focus+Context techniques, and high-interaction user interfaces), Visual Analytics, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, and User Centered Design.
