The program is based on the historical development of monuments protection, the necessity of developing legal cultural property protection culminating in the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in 1954, along with an entire range of UNESCO Conventions dealing with cultural heritage. Opportunities and challenges posed by cultural property protection in the 21^st century are discussed and the relevant institutions, GOs and NGOs that contribute to cultural property protection as well as crosscutting topics are presented.

Role-play scenarios for leadership training and presentation techniques are the perfect icebreaker for students and faculty alike.
