Friedrich Faulhammer is appointed new rector of Danube University Krems
University Council votes in favor of the General Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Science and Research
In its session held on 20 February 2013, the University Council of Danube University Krems elected Mag. Friedrich Faulhammer to become its new rector. Mag. Faulhammer will succeed Mr. Jürgen Willer who resigned from his office in September last year.

Friedrich Faulhammer, born 1963, studied law in Vienna and has worked at the Ministry for Science and Research since 1990. He became Head of the Department for Universities of Applied Sciences in 2001, actively participated in the implementation of the University Act in 2002 and was Deputy Department Director responsible for the field of university law between 2003 and 2005. In 2005, Mag. Faulhammer became Director of Department I of the Ministry for Science and Research and has been its General Secretary since 2009.

The University Council expressed its expectation that Mag. Faulhammer will continue its path of raising the University's profile in terms of content and to further its organizational consolidation. His comprehensive experience, deeply rooted in the tertiary segment of the Austrian education system, his excellent national as well as international reputation and his outstanding management skills guarantee that he will strongly support and promote Austria's only university for continuing education", the University Council stated in a press release.
