Workshop Talk with Franghiz Ali-Zadeh
Azerbaijani composer is first "Composer in Residence" at Danube University Krems
On Friday, December 2, the Centre for Contemporary of Danube University invited the composer Franghiz Ali-Zadeh to a workshop talk. The composer and pianist from Azerbaijan, currently the "Composer in Residence" at Danube University Krems, performed selected compositions.

Together with cellist Taner Türker, Ali-Zadeh played an excerpt from the piece "Habil-Sajahy" for cello and prepared piano. Taner Türker gave the first Austrian performance of “Ask Havasi” for cello solo.

In addition, in a talk with Gerhard Gensch, the Head of Centre for Contemporary Music and Curator of Campus Culture, Ali-Zadeh explained how her string quartet “Oasis” from the “Silk Road” cycle, which has been recorded by the Kronos Quartet, had evolved.
