Following a successful start in 2016, the collaboration between the Center for Contemporary Music and the French-Czech Music Academy Telč continues in 2017. The Center’s MA Program course director, lecturer, and composer Miguel Kertsman, and the head of the Center for Contemporary Music, Dr. Eva Stöckler, will again be guests at the Music Academy in Telč in 2017.

Miguel Kertsman, MA Program course director at the Center for Contemporary Music at the Danube University Krems, was invited to join the French-Czech Music Academy in Telč as Composer-in- Residence holding master classes on Contemporary Music interpretation with several instrumentalists, including performing some of his own compositions with the students. Additionally, Mr. Kertsman held a lecture on the topic: “The 21st Century Musician”, addressing many aspects of the current Classical Music Induistry with students and others in attendance. His lectures and courses, now also available online, have been so popular so that our synergy with the Academy continues ahead in 2017. Dr. Stöckler and Mr. Kertsman highlight how increasingly important having management skills becomes for today’s musicians and their careers.
