Göttweig Monastery's Collection of printsDepartment for Image ScienceThe monastery´s collection of prints is of special meaning to the scientific research of visual material and teaching on the Department for Image Science. It consists of approximately 30.000 works. A co-operation contract between the monastery and Danube University Krems ensures the disposal of the graphic collection for the Center for Image Sciences education and scientific research. |

The main part of the Graphic Cabinet derives from the baroque period and contains works of German, Dutch, Italian, French and English masters. In summer 2002 the inventory of the Graphic Cabinet of Göttweig was placed at the disposal of the Department for Image Science and thereby became an integral part of its resources. |
