Is the Polish society as divided as it is often perceived? How did we get there? How and why did the relationship between the Polish government and the EU change? Can we expect any new alliances and how does the Polish way influence other states in CEE? What are possible ways to cope with this? What do anti-pluralist tendencies and a gender-backlash mean for the everyday life in Poland? Which role do the civil society and the media play in these processes?
The second edition of the Krems Annual Conference on European Democracy will focus on recent developments in Polish politics and society. The panels will address different aspects of politics, society and everyday life.
The innovative character of the conference is thus provided by a unique inter-disciplinary approach enabling scientists, journalists, activists and members of political organizations to engage in an experience-based discussion beyond a purely academic sphere.
After the conference, a special edited volume will be published (Dietz Publishing House). The volume will be the second edition of the Krems Publication Series on European Democracy.
