Taxi: Vienna International Airport - Campus Krems 

Please contact the Taxi company below to organise your transport from Airport Vienna to Krems and back again; indicate that you belong to the EDem10 Conference, Danube University Krems. The transfer from Airport Vienna to Krems costs EUR 78,- per Taxi (up tp 4 people). If you get together with other participants the price per person will be cheaper. If you don't know other participants, please tell the Taxi company that you wish to share your Taxi with other participants and they should put you together into one car. Please organise these details (transfer with others, confirmation of price) directly with the Taxi Company, as this company works independet from us.

Arriving by Public Transport

Danube-University Krems is located 10m from the train stop "campus krems." This stop is a 2min train ride or 15min walk away from Krems Central Station, "krems an der donau."  At the website of the Austrian Railway Company (ÖBB), you can search for appropriate connections - LINK. Use the terms written in inverted commas when conducting your searches at the ÖBB-Website.


If you arrive at the Airports of Munich, Salzburg, or Linz, you must change train in St. Pölten, "st. polten", and take the train to Krems an der Donau.



Arriving from Vienna International Airport by Public Transport

We recommend the following connection, although you might want to consider other connections presented to you on the ÖBB-Website. Beware, you cannot use your train tickets from the ÖBB for the underground in Vienna. Getting from Vienna Airport to Danube-University takes about 2 hours and costs about EUR 18 (depending on the trains you choose).

  • Take train line S7 or CAT from Vienna International Airport "flughafen wien" to Wien Mitte "wien mitte". ~ 16-24min.
         Beware, the CAT ticket is more expensive than the regular ticket for rapid transit railway (S-Bahn). 
         Directly at the train station Wien Mitte, you find the underground station Landstraße. ~2min.
  • Take the green underground line U4 from Landstraße to U4 station Heiligenstadt (final station). ~ 9 min.

  • Take the direct ÖBB-train labelled REX from Heiligenstadt "wien heiligenstadt" to Krems an der Donau. ~ 57min.
         You find Taxis just in front of the train station in Krems.
  • Take the regional train labelled R from Krems an der Donau to Danube-University, "campus krems." ~2 min.
         This train only stops on demand. Therefore, press the stop-button next to the door
         once the train left Krems main station. Campus Krems is the first stop.

Arriving by Car (from Vienna)

  • From Vienna Airport on the expressway A4 (Ostautobahn) to Vienna, at the junction "Prater" take the exit to "Praha - A22", go further on the expressway A22 (Donauuferautobahn) to Stockerau, take the exit "Krems/St.Pölten/Tulln" and further on the S5 via Tulln to Krems (100 km)
  • From the city or north of Vienna go on the expressway A22 to Stockerau and on the S5 via Tulln to Krems as described above (80 km)
  • From the west or south of Vienna take the expressway A1 (Westautobahn) to St. Pölten, then expressway S33 (Kremser Schnellstrasse) to Krems. Take exit "Melk - Krems Zentrum - Wachau" and turn right onto B3 in the direction direction of Melk - Spitz - Wachau (100 km)
  • In Krems, follow the B3 in the direction of Melk - Spitz - Wachau. At the fork take the left-hand lane towards Stein - Spitz - Wachau. At the two roundabouts follow the green signs for "campus krems".
