Concepts for Professional Education

in Border Regions - C4PE

The educational conditions in vocational secondary schools and vocational schools in the Austrian-Czech border region currently do not meet the needs of the cross-border labour market. This is primarily due to the diversity of the education systems and the lack of opportunities to teach vocational and interregional competences.

The overall aim of the project is the pilot establishment of cross-border vocational training in both Czech Republic and Austria and the preparation of the recognition of the competences achieved. The project aims to achieve greater coherence between education systems in order to improve the human capital resource and thus exploit the potential of the cross-border labour market.

Planned approach of the cross-border concept

By promoting joint cross-border school cooperation - with the inclusion of 5 Lower Austrian and 5 Czech Republic schools representing a total of 3 school types (HAK, HTL, vocational school) - joint systemically relevant measures are developed and implemented. In addition, activities will be carried out to support pupils in their decision-making process about their future career or orientation on the labour market for the best possible use of human resources in the border region.
The results of the pilot school cooperations will be summarised in a transferable master plan, which will create the basis for know-how transfer in other regions as well.
