Being at the Campus Krems last Saturday was like being back in the 1950s. The occasion for that was the third Alumni Club's Summer Ball of the Danube University Krems. In spite of the chill weather over 1,000 visitors jumped around at the Krems Campus on Saturday night. Exactly in line with this year's motto "Fifties Boulevard", the Campus Krems was decorated with numerous accessories such as scooters (including Udo Jürgens' private Vespa) and a Gogomobil car dating back to the 50s.

Celebrities of the cultural and political world

Among the visitors there were also several renowned guests, first of all the legendary actors Waltraut Haas and Erwin Strahl, pop singer and song writer Anik Kadinski, Theatersommer Haag's and Wiener Lustspielhaus's art director Adi Hirschal, Amadeus Award organizer Mario Rossori and many more. Some of the political personalities that were present as guests were Krems Mayor Inge Rinke, her predecessor Franz Hölzl, Deputy Mayor Erwin Kirschenhofer and Member of Parliament Madleine Petrovic.

The event was opened by two of the most famous film stars of that time, who are artistically still active today: Waltraut Haas and Erwin Strahl. The appropriate musical framework was provided by the "Wiener Fracks" orchestra, the "Horst Buchebner Band" and the lively Grooves in the A lounge. An absolute highlight of the evening was the midnight exhibition of the Roma & Sven duo, which amazed the guests with its spectacular roller skating acrobatics. Afterwards the ball guests shook a leg in the ballroom or they unwound in the salon, casino or in the fifties dance floor till the ball night faded away.
