Balint Group Leadership in Health Care

Certified Program

The course aims to train medical doctors and clinical psychologists as Balint group leaders according to the guidelines of the Austrian Balint Society. In addition to expanding external perception, students’ self-perception is also trained. This furthers the “intersubjective correspondence ability” of medical doctors and clinical psychologists.

Another goal is a bio-psycho-social synopsis that, alongside pathogenesis, always takes salutogenesis equally into account. This university course aims to qualify students to lead Balint groups independently. On completing the course they are “Certified Balint Group Leaders” and members of the Austrian Balint Society. DFP (Diplom-Fortbildungsprogramm – diploma training program) further education points are to be applied for from the “akademie der ärzte”.

This course is taught in German, therefore an excellent level of the German language is required.
