The university course Basic and Intermediate Nursing Management prepares the upper service for health and nursing and midwives for the management of a ward or functional unit in health care facilities. Skills such as planning, organizing, guiding, consulting, recognizing business requirements and taking them into account in departmental activities are developed or strengthened.

The course concept consists of a mix of methods in classroom and e-learning units. In the online phases, students prepare themselves for the practice-oriented attendance phases. This makes it possible to study while working.

The course Basic and Intermediate Nursing Management is equivalent to the further training course "Basic and Intermediate Nursing Management" (ward management) according to § 64 Health and Nursing Law (BGBl. I No. 108/1977 as amended by BGBl. I No. 87/2016).
