Basic Module Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology

Certified Program

In Austria training as a clinical and health psychologist comprises the general training (basic module) and special training (advanced module), both in accordance with the Psychologists Act 2013 § 8.

The individual subjects and their courses are offered once per run:

a) Basic specialist skills in clinical psychology and health psychology can be acquired in the amount of 220 teaching units (20 ECTS) in 2 semesters at Danube University Krems.

b) Specialist skills in clinical psychology and health psychology can be acquired in the amount of 120 teaching units (10 ECTS) in 2 semesters at Danube University Krems.

c) Specialist skills in health psychology can be acquired in the amount of 120 teaching units (10 ECTS) in 2 semesters at Danube University Krems.

The internship containing 1628 hours for health psychology (plus 100 units supervision) and 2188 hours for clinical psychology (plus 120 units supervision) as part of the training as clinical and health psychologist as well as 76 self-experience units need to be self-organized and proven according to legal requirements.

The individual subjects and their courses are offered once per run: Basic specialist skills in clinical psychology and health psychology can be acquired in the amount of 220 teaching units (20 ECTS) in 2 semesters at Danube University Krems.

Danube University Krems also offers the advanced modules "Clinical Psychology" and "Health Psychology".

This course is taught in German, therefore an excellent level of the German language is required.
