Certified Program

Social work in the special context of children’s and youth aid is defined as a personal and expertly qualified service for children, adolescents and families, whose situation requires special case work. This particularly includes aspects of the legal and methodological skills as well as special intervention measures required in this setting.

The course addresses specific, social-pedagogical concepts such as behavior in and handling difficult group constellations, understanding psychopathological disorders and their interventions, trauma work, framework conditions in inpatient departments or outpatient treatment of children, adolescents and/or families.

Target Group

This continuing education course aims to provide specialized, expert skills and knowledge of the most important supporting measures and forms for working in children’s and youth aid institutions in a practical way, as well as based on the latest research findings, to be able to assist people and especially families with (re)establishing themselves within the social framework in order to live a decent life. It is an additional qualification for social workers already engaged in children’s and youth aid.
