Collection Studies and Management, Master of Arts - 5 semesters

The MA-programme offers theoretical knowledge and practice-based know-how that is essential to develop future-oriented strategies and concepts for collecting institutions such as museums, archives, and libraries.

The coursework combines nuts-and-bolts seminars regarding the core tasks of collecting institutions, that is acquisition, conservation, research, exhibiting and communicating tangible and intangible heritage of humanity and its environment.  A special focus of the curriculum lies on management and leadership skills.

The interdisciplinary programme thus closes a gap in the field of museum education, research and practice and aims to prepare its participants for a leading position in a collecting institution.
