In Austria, training to become a psychotherapist complies with the Psychotherapy Law, BGBl. No. 361/1990, and consists of the psychotherapy remedial course (Part 1) and advanced studies in psychotherapy (Part 2).
The university course “Psychotherapy Remedial Course” delivers the theoretical content to the general, first part of the psychotherapy training in accordance with § 3. (1) of the Psychotherapy Law. The goal is to unify all groups admitted to psychiatric training who come from different professional areas and wish to achieve a standardized, basic level in psychotherapy.
This course is taught in German, therefore an excellent level of the German language is required.
