This Master programme qualifies to evaluate, create and supervise (technology based) learning environments. Students will gain expert knowledge and skills in learning design of continuing education activities.
A special focus is given to modern technology based environment and learning arrangements.
The programme is oriented to human resource (HR) officers in SMEs, people working in adult education and teachers in institutes of middle and higher education.
Target group Educationalists and educational professionals, HR-managers, business managers, corporate trainers, psychologists and other professionals with career aspirations or development in (adult) education.
Admission requirements Bachelor’s degree from an Austrian university or teacher training college or an equivalent international qualification from a recognised university.

Applicants without a degree:
-) With university entrance qualification: a minimum of 4 years proven, relevant professional experience.
-) Without university entrance qualification: a minimum of 8 years proven, relevant professional experience.
Language English (Applicants have to demonstrate proficiency in English by means of an internationally recognised test, e.g. TOEFL, IELTS or the equivalent.)

The “Master of Arts in Business Education” is designed for those with an undergraduate degree as well as experienced professionals who want to develop their career in the specialist field of business education.


Graduates of the program will develop specialised knowledge and skills for teaching in various learning settings. This includes those teaching business in a formal educational setting, in-house company trainers, business development consultants and advisors and those working in training companies. The program combines relevant pedagogic theory with business practice to an accredited, recognized qualification, utilizing contemporary technology. Students complete a range of relevant subject areas as well as complete personal research projects of relevance to their own practice.

Aims and Overview


The Master programme combines post-graduate coursework in business content and curriculum/instruction to expand your career opportunities in both business and education. It is designed for educational professionals, HR-managers, researchers, teachers at post-secondary levels as well as business managers and corporate trainers.

Delivery Method


The Master’s degree is delivered as an executive style program, using non-traditional scheduling and blended distance education to accommodate working participants. Students attend multiple on-site intensive sessions at Danube University in Krems over the course of the program, supplemented by synchronous and asynchronous online work between formal sessions. All students complete courses within each of the domains as well as a project and master’s thesis.


Graduates of the program leave not only with a more robust academic mindset, but also with concrete skills that will prepare you to undertake new ventures in your chosen area of interest.
