The university course Fernstudium Public Relations Austria passes on specific knowledge and skills associated with communication, editorial work, conceptual design and management. This theory-based course is offered in a distance-learning format, part-time studying. The main features of the PR PLUS Fernstudium Public Relations are three practical workshops in which public relations tools are put to use, 18 course books and online learning.
Since March 2013 the two companies PR PLUS and continue their work in public relations education under one roof with the brand name Initiative Kommunikation Heidelberg. IK Heidelberg has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of distance and part-time learning systems for adult learners. The courses offer a variety of different topics in public relations like basics in public relations,and in-house training workshops. IK Heidelberg already has a very active network of over 2000 alumni.

Students receive a total of 18 course books, the contents of which are to be worked through at home. Students are able to organise their studies according to their specific needs thanks to interactive studying opportunities and individual learning. The key focal areas of this course include the fundamentals of PR and communication, together with important related disciplines, expertise in communication production, communication planning techniques and communicative behaviour competencies. In conjunction with the course accredited by the PRVA (Austrian Public Relations Association), a Master of Science (MSc) can be attained by completing a two-semester Communications upgrade.
