Jazz in Contemporary Music

Certified Program
“Jazz is the musical invention of the 20th century. The interaction between improvisational spontaneity, synergistic play of the ensemble, pulse-oriented music-making, and insatiable hunger for influences has brought about styles that have forever changed the world of music and continue to do so more and more." (Christoph Cech)

The Certified Programme „Jazz in Contemporary Music“ (CP) is directed towards motivated students who seek advanced qualification in the field of jazz music. The goal is to acquire practically, professionally as well as artistically compact further education that enables the student to be active in the field of jazz music, whether in private surroundings or in a professional environment. In addition to the refinement of the instrumental/vocal skills, emphasis is put on mastering improvisation as well as developing communication and social competencies.
