Short Biography

Eva Maria Stöckler is head of the Center for Applied Music Research at Danube University Krems and head of „Campus Cultur“, universities arts and cultural program, and she is scientific director of Mailer Collection / Strauss Archive at Danube University Krems.

Eva Maria Stöckler studied Musicology, German Philology and Slavic Studies/Russian Studies at the University of Salzburg. After graduation she worked as a certified trainer in continuing education and as the director of Kunstraum St. Virgil with exhibitions of contemporary arts. She was invited as a lecturer and speaker in Austria and abroad.

After graduated the dissertation (PhD) on Ernst Kreneks Kafka Music at the University of Salzburg, she was invited as a musicologist to the II. International Composition Seminar of Ensemble Modern Academy Frankfurt/Main under George Benjamin.

Since 2006 she works at Danube University Krems, she is member in various scientific boards and commissions (Austrian Music Council, Ernst-Krenek-Institut, Austrian Council for Traditional Music, …) and she writes book reviews of contemporary Austrian literature for the Literaturhaus Wien.

Main focus in research are music of the 20th century and contemporary music, history of music management and music business, music and literature, aesthetics and understanding arts.
