Information summerschool

Microorganisms are bioactive structures that can adapt to changing environmental conditions and thus develop resistance to antibiotics. This has led to an increasing challenge across countries: despite situations where the use of antibiotics for emergency care is indicated, these antibiotics only show weakened or no effectiveness at all.

The Summerschool’s focus is on medicinal plants for diseases of the respiratory tract.

Expert lectures and discussions, practical workshops and demonstrations make it possible to expand or deepen basic knowledge of phytotherapy.

THE LANGUAGE will be GERMAN AND ENGLISH!

  • lectures will be in English
  • workshops and e-learning content will be in German and English (selectable by participants)

Target groups

Students in the healthcare sector, health care workers, health care professionals

Course aim

  • learn about traditional use of medicinal plants and their antimicrobial potential

  • review popular medicinal herbal formulas from the perspective of modern evidence-based science

  • get in touch with evidence based literature (with focus on plants for the respiratory system and to strenghten the immune system)

  • create and develop and mix your own medicinal plant mixtures for the respiratory system

  • be a part of the "remodelling the healthcare system" and be able to give a phytotherapeutical statement
