Professorship in clinical research in orthopedics and traumatology (m/d/f)

The advertised professorship is established at the Department for Health Sciences, Medicine and Research in the Faculty of Health and Medicine.
As part of university teaching and research the department deals with the preservation and development for utilisation of architectural cultural heritage with a focus on world heritage sites and the protection of cultural property. The approach to the specific field is understood to be interdisciplinary, which means that collaboration with other faculties and departments will form a material part of the work.
General job description and profile:
The tasks of the university professor include dedicated representation of the fields of orthopedics and traumatology in research, development and teaching, in particular in the master's degree programme of "Advanced Orthopedics and Traumatology, MSc". Other areas of focus include preparing research applications and clinical studies, as well as co-mentoring of the PhD study programme of "Regenerative Medicine" in close collaboration with the Centre for Regenerative Medicine.
The qualifications required for the position are as follows:
- Habilitation or equivalent qualification in the field of trauma surgery or orthopedics, or orthopedics and traumatology
- Specialist training in trauma surgery or orthopedics, or orthopedics and traumatology
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in any of the above-mentioned fields
- Documented research and publication work in those fields
- Evidence of successful raising of third-party funding for research and teaching
- Good personal networking in the related scientific community, participation in and active contributions to conferences in those fields
- Excellent didactic skills through teaching experience in academic university courses
- Excellent command of spoken and written German and English (both min. C1)
- Experience in university structures in teaching and research
- Social, organisational and commercial leadership experience and management competence
- Knowledge of the Austrian and international academic and non-academic education and research market
In addition, the following skills and competences would be desirable:
- Experience in developing Master's degree courses
- International professional networking and experience in bodies in this field
- Gender and diversity competence
- Strategic thinking and entrepreneurial spirit
- Highly developed communication and team skills

The minimum gross salary according to the Work and Remuneration Regulations of Danube University Krems (W1/1) amounts to EUR 5,586.14 (on a 38.5 hours/week basis). We are willing to pay a higher salary according to qualifications and professional experience.
