Description

The project examines and optimizes biofunctional surfaces for extracorporeal therapies and biomedical diagnostics. In three modules, central applications are researched: Therapy: Adsorbers for blood purification are analyzed in terms of desorption and residual capacity to enhance their safety and efficiency. Diagnostics: New methods for reliable endotoxin detection in blood are being developed, based on validated demasking techniques. Marker Analysis: Extracellular vesicles with Tissue Factor are studied using innovative detection methods to better characterize their thrombogenic potential. The interdisciplinary project connects materials science, diagnostics, and clinical research for improved application of biofunctional surfaces.
