FEDERAL PROVINCIAL FUNDING

Special funding programs exist in most Austrian Federal States. In general, these support working individuals. Financial assistance is provided to enable completion of tertiary education or to obtain a professional qualification via continuing education. The sponsors are usually the federal states themselves or grant agencies from social partners cooperations. The amount of funding depends on different criteria, such as income, age etc.

You will receive further information from the respective state government offices.

STUDY GRANTS

The Austrian savings and loan associations offer special funding options for education measures. Please contact the providers of savings and loan financing to find out about current conditions.

Please note that the University for Continuing Education Krems is not responsible for the completeness, timeliness or actual receipt of scholarships for the funding opportunities listed on its website.

Tax Deductibility of Continuing Education Costs

If you are subject to taxation in Austria, you can claim the tuition fees for your continuing education program as well as all related expenses (e.g., study materials, travel, and accommodation costs) for tax purposes. This applies to both self-employed individuals and employees.

The only requirement is that the program constitutes further training in your current professional field or education in a related area. Depending on your income, you may receive up to 50% of the costs back.
