Unequal working conditions, economic disparities and a differently paced development remain obstacles hindering the Danube region in its evolvement. The Danube Conference, organized by the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM) and Danube University Krems under the patronage of the ARGE Donauländer, will discuss the combination of leadership and the principle of the individual responsibility towards good governance at Campus Krems on 29 November. The aim is to provide participation and good living conditions in the Danube Region. Another point of discussion at the conference "Ownership and Leadership in the Danube Region", which is supported by the Province of Lower Austria, are conclusions drawn from Austria's EU Presidency and the presentation of the "Dr. Erhard Busek SEEMO 2018 Award for Better Understanding in South East Europe".
To implement the EU-Danube Region Strategy, which aims on improving living, working and economic conditions in the Danube Region all actors - public and private institutions as well as individuals - need to interact. Good governance requires ownership, i.e. taking on personal responsibility as a citizen, and at the same time coordinating activities leadership. How the political, socio-economic, legal and regional framework conditions are meant to be used for cooperation and what universities, industry and civil engagement can contribute for the Danube Region to thrive will be discussed at the Danube Conference on 29 November at the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, together with the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences co-organizers of the international conference. Organized by the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM) and the Danube University Krems, the conference brings together high-ranking experts from ministries, initiatives and universities based in the countries of the Danube Region.
The former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Romania, Prof. Mihai Razvan Ungureanu, will deliver the keynote.
