Danube University Krems joined the largest university association in Europe at the beginning of the year - thus international cooperation is facilitated, and with it the university's visibility is raised. The advancement of the subject academic continuing education at universities can now be pursued in this framework, with Danube University Krems' expertise used to promote it.

With its admission to the European University Association (EUA), Danube University Krems is consistently continuing its path towards intensified international networking and exchange. Alongside its engagement in the Danube Rectors' Conference (DRC), among others, the university is now broadening its geographic focus even further by joining the largest association of European universities, which currently comprises around 850 institutions from 48 countries.

The EUA is renowned for being a forum for internationalization and acts as such to network and represent interests in the field of tertiary education and positions itself as "the voice of Europe's universities". This voice is heard, among other things, in the course of numerous conferences, workshops and other events that are coordinated and offered under the umbrella of the EUA, and which aim primarily at the university management, but also directly at researchers. The main goal is to develop projects on a European level together with other universities from within the network.

Rector Friedrich Faulhammer is delighted about the membership, especially regarding the EU education policy, which recently renewed its strategic orientation on the target of an European Education Area by 2025 as well as the new orientation of the European Research Area (ERA), which was decided at the same time. The European University Association offers the opportunity to engage more closely in these processes. "As a leading public university for continuing education, our role is important when it comes to academic scientific continuing education in and for Europe," says Rector Faulhammer. Danube University Krems will in particular make use of the framework of the EUA in order to bring in its years of expertise even more on an international level.
