Students at the University for Continuing Education Krems have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in two new areas. The university course "Management of Medical Utilities" provides up-to-date expertise on planning, founding, and managing a doctor’s practice. The course "Occupational Health Management" was designed for students who wish to know how to create the basis for productive work within a company and how to position the company’s image as an attractive employer.

„The opening of a doctor’s practice requires knowledge in financing, practice equipment, personnel planning, legal knowledge as well as management skills. Our goal is to provide students with the necessary competencies and methods to manage or run a doctor’s practice or a group of practices. This will enable them to successfully master the challenges involved," says course director Assistant Prof Eva Krczal.

The university course "Management of Private Health Care Facilities" was developed with experienced practitioners and experts. Here, physicians can acquire management skills in two semesters to successfully set up a single doctor's practice, larger care units such as outpatient clinics or primary care facilities.

Promoting productive work

"Occupational Health Management" is a university course on how to strengthen the employees’ motivation. "The goal is to strengthen the company. Employees' performance and personal responsibility are to be maintained and improved. Job-related illnesses and absences should be reduced and the foundation for productive work laid," says the course director Dejana Petrovic-Luef.

The university course imparts basic knowledge about structures and contents for systematic and goal-oriented health management in the company. In two semesters, students acquire the necessary skills to successfully establish occupational health management in the company.
