Description
The project DJ Isotype addresses the question how Isotype can be applied to interactive information visualizations in the context of data journalism. Isotype is a promising approach to communicate statistics and open data to laypeople, however, basic questions on its applicability remain to be answered in this project, so that Isotype can unfold its full potential. Prototypical visualization and intuitive, narrative interaction templates will be developed and tested regarding their cognitive impact, usability, and user-experience. In addition, a prototypical web application will guide journalists through the semi-automatic transformation of data into Isotype-based visualizations.
