Description
The "Model Region Liezen for Health Literacy and Health Promotion (MoReLi)" is a regional health promotion project being implemented in the district of Liezen from 2024 to 2028. The project is led by the Evangelisches Diakoniewerk Gallneukirchen in cooperation with the Gesundheitsfonds Steiermark (Styrian Health Fund). Its aim is to sustainably promote health literacy and strengthen health-supportive structures across the 29 municipalities of the model region, with particular attention to vulnerable population groups, low-threshold services, regional networking, and psychosocial health. The external scientific evaluation, conducted by the Department for Evidence-Based Medicine and Evaluation at the University for Continuing Education Krems, assesses the achievement of project goals, evaluates the implemented measures, and analyzes the effects achieved. In the short term, the evaluation provides the Diakoniewerk and the Gesundheitsfonds Steiermark with a basis for strategic steering, quality assurance, and verifiable evidence of goal attainment. In the long term, the MoReLi program contributes to strengthening health literacy and equal opportunity in the district of Liezen and generates transferable insights for similar projects in other regions.
