As part of the FIT4YOUniversity event during the week of August 18 to 22, the Department for Biomedical Research gave young people an insight into the world of science with two exciting workshops.

In the workshop “Winzig Kleines ganz groß ("Tiny Things Are Big Deal"), participants were able to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of tiny structures with the help of an electron microscope from the Core Facility Campus Krems and experience how state-of-the-art technology makes the invisible visible.

The workshop “Blood – A Very Special Juice” ("Blut - Ein ganz besonderer Saft") provided insights into the diverse properties of our blood. Blood types were determined, blood smears were prepared, and examined under a microscope.

With these offerings, the department contributed to inspiring young people to take an interest in biomedical research and gave them a realistic insight into scientific work.
