With its six departments, the Faculty of Health and Medicine represents Danube University Krems’ medical and health sciences competency. The departments teach and research in the fields of health sciences and medicine, biomedical research, evidence-based medicine and epidemiology, health and economics, psychology and bio psychosocial health.
Department for Health Sciences, Medicine and Research
The Department for Health Sciences, Medicine and Research is specialized in postgraduate continuing education in clinical medicine. It focuses on the fields of regenerative medicine, incl. orthopedics and sport medicine as well as complementary medicine. Application-oriented research in the field of regenerative medicine concentrates on tissue regeneration and cartilage replacement.
Department for Biomedical Research
Das Department für Biomedizinische Forschung setzt seinen Schwerpunkt in Forschung und Entwicklung auf Verfahren zur extrakorporalen Blutreinigung, insbesondere auf extrakorporale Adsorptionstechnologien in Anwendungen wie Leberunterstützung oder Zytokinmodulation.
Department for Evidence-Based Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology
Meticulous analysis and independent processing of scientific findings for medical doctors, patients and policymakers in the health sector is one of the core competencies of the Department for Evidence-Based Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology.
