World Stroke Academy

The World Stroke Academy (WSA) is an educational project of the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and offers a range of eLearning courses for physicians and allied healthcare professionals worldwide. This online educational resource provides a useful learning tool which we hope will support stroke professionals in their daily clinical practice and ultimately alleviate the global burden of stroke.

On the dynamic WSA eLearning platform, users will find a variety of online modules focusing on stroke prevention and treatment, patient care and neurorehabilitation. The format of content differs among the courses and includes expert interviews, conference presentations, original papers and case studies.

The WSA Editorial team includes Professor Peter Sandercock (WSO), Carmen Lahiff-Jenkins (International Journal of Stroke), Alina Schwarz (Danube University Krems). Until the end of 2018, Professor Michael Brainin – now WSO President- was the WSA Editor-in-Chief. The WSA office is located at Danube University Krems, Austria, from where the program is coordinated.

Head: Prof. Michael Brainin
