University Professorship for Integrative Therapy (m/f/d)

according to §99 UG 2002 (Austrian Universities Act)

The tasks of the university professor include the dedicated representation of the field of Integrative Therapy in research, development, teaching, taking on management and leadership responsibilities within the department as well as the continuous advancement of the curriculum. The future position holder is expected to conduct comprehensive and impact-oriented empirical research in the field of Integrative Therapy, the results intended to contribute to the ongoing process of teaching.

The following tasks are planned to be implemented within 5 years:

Your Tasks:

  • Scientific leadership of the specialization in Integrative Therapy
  • Taking responsibilities in social, organizational, and economic management and leadership tasks within the department
  • Conducting teaching sessions and examinations, including student supervision during lectures
  • Securing external funding for research projects at national and European levels
  • Publishing research results in recognized scientific journals and presenting findings at relevant conferences
  • Development of the existing and new courses in the field of Integrative Therapy
  • Supervision of PhD and Master students
  • Participation in intra- and interinstitutional collaborations
  • Contribution to organizational and administrative tasks
  • Participation in evaluation activities

To be considered for the position, the following qualifications must be met:

  • Completed doctoral degree (Doctorate/PhD)
  • Completed psychotherapy training in the field of Integrative Therapy
  • Habilitation or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant professional experience and expertise in the field of Integrative Therapy
  • Demonstrated scientific and internationally recognized research activity
  • Strong publication record in in relevant high-ranking journals
  • Active member of relevant scientific communities (proven by active conference participations, memberships, co-authorships, etc.)
  • Very good knowledge in qualitative and quantitative research methods proven by publications and teaching activities
  • Excellent knowledge of English and German Language (at least C1)
  • Leadership skills and managerial competences in relation to social, organizational, and economic aspects
  • Gender equality and diversity competencies

In addition, the following skills and knowledge would be desirable:

  • Experience and high didactic aptitude in university teaching proven by teaching evaluations
  • Successful acquisition of third-party funding at the national and/or international level as Principal Investigator
  • Experience with university structures in teaching and research
  • National and international networking and experience in contributing to thematically relevant committees in the scientific field
  • Experience in development and management of extra-occupational university courses
  • Ability for strategic and entrepreneurial thinking
  • Knowledge of the Austrian and international university as well as non-university education and research sectors
  • Strong communication and team skills

The remuneration for this Professorship will be EUR 5,826,50 gross per month on a full-time basis (according to the collective agreement of the universities §49 VwGr. A1). Higher salary may be agreed upon, depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
