Amira Abdelaziz Elsaid holds a Master of Arts in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Central European University in Vienna, Austria. Her thesis explored how unaccompanied children and youth transiting in Egypt navigate a restrictive governance and assistance landscape, and how it relates to their migration strategies.

She has previously worked with international NGOs, supporting mixed methods studies and needs assessments, and project development within EU/ECHO frameworks. She brings practical expertise on localization, education in emergencies, accelerated education, psychosocial support, and protection for migrant and refugee children and youth.

As a Research Assistant in the project Mixed (ar)Rivals: Unravelling inter-migrant group relations, Amira continues to develop her research agenda on policy impacts and solidarity between migrants in North Africa.
