Chiara Zuanni, PhD, Professor of Digital Cultures and Digital Humanities at the University for Continuing Education Krems, has been elected Chair of the European Association for Digital Humanities (EADH). In this role, she will lead one of the key European scholarly associations in her field.

The EADH brings together disciplines that explore and apply digital methods and technologies in the humanities and cultural studies. As Chair, Zuanni will head the EADH Executive Committee, represent the organization within the international umbrella body Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations (ADHO), and contribute to the further development of the network.

“I am very pleased to have been elected Chair of the EADH and consider it a great honor to represent the community in this role,” says Zuanni. “I am particularly committed to further strengthening the Digital Humanities across Europe and to supporting early-career researchers. I also aim to foster closer exchange between the Digital Humanities and the field of cultural heritage.”

About the person

At the University for Continuing Education Krems, Zuanni conducts research at the intersection of Digital Humanities and museum studies. Her work focuses on digital practices in the cultural heritage sector, ranging from data processes in museums and 3D digitization to new forms of engaging with cultural heritage through digital media.

Zuanni has previously worked at the University of Liverpool and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Since 2018, she had been based at the University of Graz, where she completed her habilitation in Digital Humanities and most recently held the position of Associate Professor. In 2025, she was appointed as professor at the University for Continuing Education Krems.
