Trauma-pedagogic-training evaluation

The educational work in residential (inpatient) facilities for children’s and youth help includes an interprofessional understanding of disorders, crisis vulnerability and dynamics. Traumatic experiences constitute a primary position. The lack of scientific proven insights about the effects of work in residential (inpatient) facilities is stated repeatedly in the professional discourse. The “Tabaluga Kinder- und Jugendstiftung“ is currently implementing an extensive trauma pedagogic training. The project plans a simultaneous evaluation of the training in cooperation with the Danube University Krems under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Silke Birgitta Gahleitner. This evaluation will combine qualitative and quantitative methods with semi structured interviews and a qualitative questionnaire in order to approach the topic from different angles (top-down and bottom-up) and to maximize the depth of the results through triangulation. On the basis of which existing concepts and approaches can be discussed and professional answers in regards to the quality of trauma pedagogic further training and the practice in the facilities of the institution can be developed.
