Sports medicine is not offered as an independent medical
specialization in many countries, which is why the University of Continuing Education Krems has set itself the goal
of establishing an innovative interdisciplinary Master‘s
degree program in this field. The aim is to offer physicians
specialized further training across the entire spectrum of
sports medicine expertise.

  • For working professionals: Students will acquire the ability to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during lessons in practice-focused and cadaver lab sessions.
  • Research-led: Students will cover  the broad spectrum of prevention and diagnostics of sports injuries and sports related over use damage as well as the therapeutic, preventative and rehabilitative strategies in sport.
  • Future oriented: Students will get sports medicine knowledge of numerous internationally leading medical specialists and disciplines is incorporated into the course. The course includes a total of 60 ECTS points and can be completed part-time within 3 semesters. It consists compulsory modules and the master's thesis with colloquium .

 

 

Admission requirements

  • a university degree from a regular Austrian or equivalent foreign degree programme in human medicine or in the life sciences including the subjects of biology, biochemistry, molecular biology at least at NQF level VII (e.g. master or diploma)

  • and adequate clinical experience
